Sumter County Cultural Commission

The Sumter County Cultural Commission is a county council appointed group of community volunteers dedicated to promoting the Arts in Sumter by providing financial support, coordinating events, and offering arts-related programming.
Some of their signature programs include: Fall for the Arts, which is a week long celebration of arts featuring visual arts, music, theatre, and dance every October. The Cultural Commission hosts SwanCon (a comic book festival) annually in partnership with USC Sumter.
The Cultural Commission also sponsors a Small Grant Program program to provide funds for eligible organizations and individuals to produce arts-related programming, events, and other activities. The program is made possible through the commission and matching funds from Sumter County. Awards are based on the artistic and/or cultural merit of the project.
